Matthew Porter has been a part of the Dixon Electrical team since 1998 and is a Project Manager. In addition to being a project manager, Matt is an electrician, foreman, superintendent, and an estimator. He has excellent communication skills, a strong sense of organization, which both allows him to assess time and quality control while on the job. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Electricity and electronics from Morehead State University. Matt’s Qualifications include: completed the IBEW apprenticeship training in 1999, WV Journeyman Electrician, KY Master Electrician, KY Electrical Contractors, HAM Radio – FCC Licensed, NJATC Certified, OSHA-10, OSHA-30, First Aid/CPR Certified, Leviton Structured Cable/Fiberoptic Certified, and 3M Medium Voltage Cable Term Certified. Before working for DES, Matt worked for student housing at Morehead State University and was a member of the Laborers Local Union # 1445 for five years. He was also a JATC instructor for two years. He enjoys spending time with his wife of twelve years, Andrea, along with children Gabe and Sarah and their dog Molly. Matt is very active in his church and enjoys sports, shooting, spending time in the outdoors, reading, listening to music and working with computers.
