Shawn Dixon, along with wife Cary, founded Dixon Electrical Systems & Contracting (DES), Inc. in July of 1998. He is President of the Corporation and his duties include project management and day to day operation of the business. Shawn graduated in 1985 from both Marshall University, with a business degree, and the IBEW Apprenticeship program. Shortly after graduation, he started supervising projects from the field for local contractors. In 1992 he began working in project estimation and management. In 1998, Shawn accomplished a lifelong goal of owning his own business when DES was established. Shawn serves on the NECA Chapter Board of Directors, the NECA Chapter Negotiation Committee, and has served nine years on the NECA-IBEW Apprenticeship Committee. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Huntington City Mission. Shawn has served as President of Hite-Saunders Little League, and spent many years volunteering as a coach for Little League and Babe Ruth baseball leagues. Shawn has been married for twenty-five years to Cary, and they have two children – Sarah and Shawn. They also have two dogs from the local animal shelter. He enjoys golfing, water and snow skiing, shooting and spending time outdoors.
